UPDATE: eSata for better and for cheaper.

Posted by Exit271

So things are going alright with the NewerTech eSATA setup but I have found one issue that gives me a bit of grief.

When I turn on my system and have my eSATA connected to certain hard drives the boot process takes forever. I think that this has to do with certain hard drives taking a ton of time to mount. Even if I connect them via USB or Firewire 400 I get the same issue.

So... just something to be aware of. If you have hard drives that take forever to mount via USB or Firewire, that problem will still be around if you use this eSATA Extender Cable solution. It will just be more annoying because you will have to wait in the boot process until the mount happens.
